Under 12 Camogie
The Naomh Olaf Under 12 camogie girls had a very busy weekend and were in action on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
Saturday saw three home teams take on strong opposition from Na Fianna. It was the girls' first competitive match since last October and they came away honours even, having beaten the opposition well in one match, drawn one and losing the last. A very good result against a strong club.
On Sunday afternoon the annual "Camán to Leinster" blitz took place in Abbotstown where clubs compete against their counterparts from all over Leinster. Being a camogie blitz, there was strong representation from the camogie strongholds around the province. Notwithstanding this, the Naomh Olaf club were one of very few clubs to enter two teams in the blitz and the girls performed excellently in very wet and cold conditions. It was a great opportunity to compete against stronger camogie sides and they dug deep on a number of occasions to produce super performances. Well done to all who participated.
