Stepaside St. Patrick's Day arrangements
Stepaside St. Patrick's Day Parade
The preparations being made by the Naomh Olaf GAA Club St. Patrick's Day Parade group will soon be rewarded as the big day approaches. This parade has become a very big event in the South Dublin calendar and it is a source of great pride that the Naomh Olaf group will head the parade and also that our Dublin star David Byrne will be the Grand Master, accompanied by some of our other Dublin representatives,
This is a great opportunity to celebrate our national feast day and also to celebrate the success and hard work of a relatively young GAA Club. So please turn out and join in the celebrations. Watch from the sidelines or throw on your Naomh Olaf jersey and participate in the parade.
The parade itself will commence at 1:30 pm but those intending to participate should convene at the top of Kilgobbin Lane (more or less opposite the Burrow Par 3 Golf course) at 12:30. Stay at the top of the lane as Naomh Olaf GAA are leading the parade. Some of our younger members will enjoy parading and may be accompanied by their parents.
Remember all the juvenile players should wearing Naomh Olaf gear. Our theme on the day is The Viking mascot. We need to be colourful and create lots of noise - please bring Bodhrans, Drums, Viking Hats, Viking Shields etc.
Mentors are asked to contact Tara O'Brien or John Somers asap and let them know how many mentors and parents will be there to help and also the players participating in the parade from your team.
